Our Cages

Ad.Aq. cages are made of 100% high density Polyethylene, a tested and guaranteed material to ensure the maximum durability and functionality.

  • ECOSERONDO™ for surface systems from 15 to 70 mt. diameter, is the best solution for intensive farming of bass, seabream and tuna.
  • SEALIFT™ for submerged systems from 16 to 25mt diameter, completes the cages range for the sea storm high risk areas.
  • SQUERO for square or rectangular shaped systems, normally accompanied by perimeter walkways and intended for protected areas.
  • Due to its high functionality and strength Ecoserondo is the most popular cage in the Mediterranean.
Made in different sizes, from 10mt to 70mt diameter, they are composed of floating tubes with external diameter from 200 to 400mm.

Each cage has a different number and typology of perimeter brackets depending on the size and the installation area.
The floating tubes are filled with closed cell foam material to make the system unsinkable even in case of breakage.
The tubular rings are made of a specific PEHD especially thought for aquaculture application.
The Off Shore cages are provided complete of a “Sinker Tube”: a submerged counter-ring filled with a chain used as a ballast to increase the system strength.
The sinker tube size depends on the marine current and the wave height. At the bottom of the brackets there are special accessories connecting the floating ring and the sinker tube in the correct way.
To increase the resistance of the connection between the mooring system and the cage we produce special H or double H shaped reinforcements.

  • The SEALIFT cages series has been designed for those sites where it is necessary to immerse the structures to avoid the superficial strip of high water turbulence. Installable only in sites with a minimum depth of 35 meters, the Sealift cages feature a system of flooding and emptying of the tubular sections of the cage to induce the sinking of the cage to the depth defined by the project by opening specific valves controlled on the surface and connected to the structure via umbilical.

The cages are correlated with a weighting ring made of tubular PEHD, weighted according to the desired immersion speed. The mooring system takes over the classic Eco Searondo, the only difference is the use of buoys with higher floating power, since they must support the weight of the cage once the planned depth of immersion has been reached. The Sealift series consists of cages with diameters of 16-19-22 and 25 mt.

  • The SAFELIFT cages series, always submersible, differs in the use of a diving bell for the sinking and emersion of the structure. The structure of the cages is essentially identical to the SEARONDO’s one with the exception of the ballast ring which in this case is made with a thicker PEAD pipe to give it greater rigidity which is necessary for its direct connection to the compensation bell.

The advantage of this system refers to the easiness of its utilization: the only operation to be carried out for cage immersion consists in opening a single valve placed on the surface which, once opened, allows the air contained in the bell to exit to annul the buoyancy compensating the weight of the ballast chains. Likewise, the cage emerge inflating air into the diving bell via the umbilical.

The barycentric position of the bell ensures the maintenance of horizontal plane during immersion and emersion operations. This avoids loss of net volume and the presence of divers to control the operation.

  • The SQUERO cages series has been designed for those sites where it is appropriate to use square and rectangular cages, typical for protected sea areas, lakes and rivers.
By choosing this type of structure, aspects such as: easy accessibility, practical management and system modularity are preferred.

Designed to offer endless possibilities in terms of size and shape, the SQUERO series cages are offered singularly or in an “island system” with, generally, a large central jetty and series of square or rectangular cages on the sides. The cages themselves are equipped individually with walkways made of wood or synthetic material.
